New Parent Carer Forum

Parent carers of children with additional needs and disabilities are being invited to help set up a new forum in Cumbria.

Posted Tuesday, 12th January 2021

AS part of the Cumbria SEND Improvement Programme, a Zoom meeting is going to be held on Wednesday, January 20 at 7.30pm to explore now parents and carers in Cumbria can work together, supported by the national charity Contact, to set up a new Parent Carer Forum group run by, and for, parents of additional needs and diabilities.

Hosted by Catherine Ratcliffe from Contact, the online meeting on Wednesday January 20 will see Catherine explain what a Parent Carer Forum is (and what it is not) and support parents to explore and decide how to create a new group to represent SEND families in Cumbria. Once established, the new forum will work with the whole SEND system, including education, health and social care, to improve services and the lives of children with SEND and their families.

To take part in the January 20th meeting, email catherone.ratcliffe@cafmily.org.uk to reserve your place and obtain the meeting's access link.

THANK YOU for your support ...
