£550 boost from veterans' group

Carlisle Mencap has received a wonderful boost from the Cumbria Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club which held a fundraising event recently and raised £550 for our charity.

Posted Wednesday, 23rd September 2020

The event was held at the home of club representative Mark Barrett with members, family and friends taking part in a socially-distanced, mask-wearing, track and trace format. Donations were accepted with teas, coffees and cakes being sold, as well as a variety of donated products also up for sale.

A magnificent total of £1,100 was raised with the money split between our charity and the Survivors of Bereavement By Suicide group.

Carlisle Mencap would like to express its gratitude to Mark and all the Cumbria Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club members and others who took part in the event.

The club tries to meet twice a month around the county but obviously with Covid-19 restrictions they have had to readjust like so many groups and charities. For more details go to https://afvbc.com/club/cumbria_armed_forces_veterans_breakfast_club

THANK YOU for your support ...
