Coronavirus (COVID-19) - County Council advice

Following confirmation of two cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Cumbria, the county council is issuing the following advice to schools, staff, parents and young people.

The advice comes from Cumbria County Council's Director of Public Health, Colin Cox, and is targeted at head teachers of schools in the county, as well as staff, parents and young people.

The advice from Public Health England and the office of the Chief Medical Officer is that NO SCHOOL SHOULD CLOSE in response to a suspected (or confirmed) coronavirus (COVID-19) cases UNLESS DIRECTED TO DO SO by Public Health England.

If schools, teachers, parents and young people require more information, they can contact the Department for Education Coronavirus Helpline on 0800 046 8687. Open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
